Objective:

• Obtain positive Nevada media coverage for our client, Truckee Meadows Water Authority (TMWA), either directly or through coverage of the general event
Describe project:
Entitled Partnering in Protection: Celebrating Collaboration and Conservation, the event was intended to do just that. It was a chance for the many Nevada and California agencies involved to celebrate their hard work and recognize the importance of preserving open space and the Truckee River watershed. We were charged with using our existing media relationships to invite key media to cover the event, either through their attendance or with our press materials serving as reference. We pitched Nevada media with a teaser media advisory, and then followed up with a detailed release and an all-encompassing media kit, complete with area maps, fact sheets and partner agency descriptions.
Outcome:

• Received positive regional media coverage
- • All three local affiliate television stations, local cable access and the Reno Gazette-Journal attended the event
- • The story was picked up by the Associated Press and regional coverage included: San Francisco Chronicle, Nevada Appeal, Sacramento Bee, Tahoe Daily Tribune, Las Vegas Sun, Las Vegas Review Journal, Sparks Tribune, Sierra Sun, The Union, Placerville Mountain Democrat, Lovelock Review-Miner and Northern Nevada Business Weekly
