The Results

Objective:

    • To develop a site that would function as the primary information source for individuals interested in learning about Truckee Meadows Tomorrow (TMT) and about Quality of Life (QOL) in the Truckee Meadows
    • To provide a community forum for individuals to participate in discussion on topics relating to QOL in the Truckee Meadows

Describe project/event/issue

After hosting a series of investigative meetings with the client, we were able to identify the elements and functionalities that would be necessary for the new Web site in order to meet the identified objectives while staying within the approved budget. These functionalities included automated forms, the implementation of an e-commerce system, the building of a community forum, the construction of a membership management system and customized content management system to name a few. We met with our design team and programmers and came up with a look, feel and structure for the Truckee Meadows Tomorrow Web site and moved forward with the programming.

Outcome:

• Since the launch of the Web site in February 2007, monthly visits have averaged 5,000 sessions per month
• In an informal survey TMT members and Web site users state the newly redesigned Web site elevates TMT's status as a non-profit, is logical to navigate and data is easy to find.
• The executive director is able to easily update the Web site
